KOCHI: Malayalam film director P Balachandra Kumar, a key witness in the 2017 actress abduction and sexual assault case involving actor Dileep, died at a private hospital in Chengannur in Kerala early on Friday. He was 52.
A native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kumar was undergoing treatment for heart and kidney-related ailments for a long time, people close to the director said, adding his mortal remains were being taken to his native village for last rites.
Kumar directed the 2013 film 'Cowboy' starring Asif Ali and Bala.
