CHANDIGARH: The book "In Her Defence: Ten Landmark Judgments on Women in the Armed Forces", published globally by Penguin Random House was released at a local bookstore on Saturday.
Edited by high court lawyer Navdeep Singh and Gurgaon-based public policy specialist Shivani Dasmahapatra, the book is an anthology of essays and commentaries in layperson terms contributed by jurists, judges, and academics on landmark constitutional court decisions of India that made a difference and brought about a positive change for women in the uniformed forces.
It was followed by a discussion moderated by Lt Gen KJS 'Tiny' Dhillon. Former Army Chief General VP Malik was the guest of honour. The editors termed the book "a cornerstone and embodiment of the judiciary's unwavering dedication to upholding the principles of equality and justice." HTC
