NEW DELHI:
The initiatives, with a combined outlay of around ₹4,500 crore, include new campuses for Delhi University (DU), a World Trade Centre (WTC) building at Nauroji Nagar, government quarters in Sarojini Nagar, and a large-scale slum rehabilitation project in Ashok Vihar.
The first of these projects to be inaugurated will be the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) slum rehabilitation project which will provide 1,675 newly built flats in Ashok Vihar to JJ cluster residents. Modi will inaugurate this project in person and hand over keys to beneficiaries during the event at 12.10 pm, officials said.
"In line with his commitment to housing for all," the Prime Minister will visit Swabhiman Apartments at 12.10 pm," said a spokesperson. Eligible beneficiaries will contribute just 7% of the ₹25 lakh construction cost, paying ₹1.42 lakh for the flats and ₹30,000 for five years of maintenance.
Thereafter, at around 12.45 pm the PM will inaugurate multiple development projects online.
