HARIDWAR: The Haridwar district administration has banned the sale, stocking and usage of Chinese kite string, popularly known as manjha, days after a man died after getting entangled with a manjha while riding on a bike, officials said on Friday.
City magistrate Kusum Chauhan said: "Sale, stocking and usage has been prohibited for using Chinese manjha across the district. All police station house officials have been directed to conduct impromptu inspections and checks for Chinese manjha and also lodge cases against those found stocking, supplying, selling, and using it."
