Touring ‘Sheesh Mahal’ model is BJP’s flashy campaign push
Hindustan Times Haryana|January 09, 2025
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started setting up scaled architectural models of 6 Flag Staff Road, the contentious bungalow Arvind Kejriwal lived in during his time as chief minister, at its rallies and events in the city ahead of the February 5 elections, sharpening its attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over allegedly lavish modifications made to the Civil Lines bungalow.

NEW DELHI:

The party has employed a Gurugram-based architect to create 14 such 6ft x 4ft models of the bungalow, which have been deployed at a string of events, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Rohini last week.

Mounted on a truck, the model drew several people who took selfies with it. In the run-up to the elections, the scaled model has also been displayed in Connaught Place, at a press conference, and other state party events.

“On every occasion, it became an instant hit and people started clicking photos. Each BJP candidate will be given one model that will be mounted on a van and paraded in their constituency. This will be a key part of our campaign over the next month,” said BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor.
