AHMEDABAD: Two people were injured when a "homemade" bomb disguised as a parcel exploded in Sabaramati area of Ahmedabad on Saturday, police officials said, in what they suspected was an attempt at exacting "revenge" over a marital dispute.The injured were identified as Kirit Sukhadia and Gaurav Niranjan Gadhvi, who was allegedly hired by Rupen Kishor Barot, the main accused in the case, police said. Both Gadhvi and Barot have been arrested.Additional commissioner of police Nirajkumar Badgujar said Barot sent the parcel containing the bomb to target Baldev Sukhadia -- brother of the injured -- whom he blamed for his marital discord. "Barot has been embroiled in a divorce case for the past 10 months. Baldev has been supporting Barot's wife, whom he considers a sister," he said, adding that Barot had been threatening Baldev for a while. Barot allegedly devised a bomb at home and hired Gadhvi to deliver it as a parcel to Baldev's home, the ACP said.When Gadhvi reached his home, Baldev and his brother Kirit, told him they had not placed any orders and refused to accept the parcel. As an argument ensued, the parcel exploded, injuring Gadhvi and Kirit, the officer said. Gadhvi was apprehended by locals and handed over to the police. Barot has also been arrested. ".It primarily appears to be an act of revenge over a marital dispute," Badgujar said.
