Govt plans to develop Babliyan and Munabao borders into tourism hubs
Hindustan Times Rajasthan|January 15, 2025
The Rajasthan government is planning to develop Babliyan border in Jaisalmer and Munabao Border in Barmer into tourism hubs, on the lines of Punjab's Wagah Border, which blend history with culture, people aware of the matter said.
- Mukesh Mathrani

BARMER:

Barmer MP Ummedaram Beniwal has been at the forefront of this vision, advocating the development of these strategic sites through detailed proposals submitted to Union minister for culture and tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

"Jaisalmer is already a globally recognised tourist destination known for its forts and desert landscapes. Developing Babliyan as a Wagah-style border attraction will elevate its status further and serve as a symbol of pride and patriotism," Beniwal said in his proposal.
