MUMBAI: Mumbaikars are known to go breathless intermittently, enveloped by poor quality of air; and a report analysing the city's air pollution over 2024, has placed Mazgaon, Siddharth Nagar in Worli and Malad West in the worst category. The annual levels of PM2.5 pollutants in the air shown at recording stations in these areas were in excess of the standards set by the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
The report by climate-tech startup Respirer Living Sciences, titled 'Towards clear skies 2024', looked at concentrations of particles of 2.5 µg (micrograms) and under, which are known to easily slip into lungs and cause irritation, throughout the year.
