DEHRADUN: The opposition Congress on Thursday opposed the state government's decision to hand over Haridwar Government Medical College to a private company to operate under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) mode and threatened to launch a massive protest if it is not withdrawn.
Speaking at a press conference, Suryakant Dhasmana, senior vice president of the state Congress committee, said: "The government either has become paralysed or has taken a hefty amount to hand over the hospital to private hands under the PPP mode and we demand immediate cancellation of the agreement with the private party, in this case Sharda University."
