Following overnight snowfall in Uttarkashi district, the Gangotri National Highway was blocked between Songad and Gangotri and approximately one foot of snow accumulated. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) rushed to clear the snow using heavy machines, they added.
Keerti Panwar district information officer, Uttarkashi, said, "The BRO has deployed one excavator, along with officers, employees, and 35 labourers to clear the snow on the Gangotri Highway. Traffic is likely to be restored by the evening."
