DEHRADUN: The Congress on Wednesday warned action against their party workers who have filed their nominations as Independent candidates after being denied tickets for the upcoming urban local body elections.

State Congress president Karan Mahara on Wednesday said the party leaders are trying to convince rebel candidates to take back their nominations or disciplinary action will be taken against them.

"We have time till Thursday. We are trying to convince our rebels to take back nominations. If they don't, we will take disciplinary action against them," he said, adding that they will not dent the party's prospects in the coming elections.
