CBI summons TMC's Abhishek hours after relief from top court

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday summoned Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of the ruling Trinamool Congress party, to appear before it on April 18 for questioning in connection with the bribe-for-jobs scam in the West Bengal school education department.
CBI summons TMC's Abhishek hours after relief from top court

The summons came hours after the Supreme Court on Monday stayed all action by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate against the TMC parliamentarian till April 24.

Admitting a petition moved by Banerjee, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud stayed a Calcutta high court order asking the federal agencies to interrogate the TMC leader.
