The party announced 144 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh elections, 30 for Chhattisgarh and 55 for Telangana.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress fielded former chief minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Kamal Nath from his bastion of Chhindwara.
It also named actor Vikram Mastal, who played Lord Hanuman in a 2008 TV show, to take on incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Budhni assembly segment.
Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh's son, Jaivardhan Singh, who was a minister in the previous Kamal Nath government, was fielded from Raghogarh.
Former state minister and Rajya Sabha lawmaker, Vijay Laxmi Sadho, has been fielded from the Maheshwar-SC assembly seat. Former cabinet minister Jitu Patwari will contest from Rau assembly constituency.
