The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast similar conditions on Sunday and has issued a yellow alert for dense fog, but has predicted that the visibility will improve starting next week.
Safdarjung, representative of Delhi's weather, recorded zero visibility for eight hours from 12.30am to 8.30am on Saturday, which later improved to 100m at 9am. Palam recorded nine hours of zero visibility from 11.30pm on Friday to 8.30am on Saturday, which improved to 50m at 9am.
"Dense fog conditions are likely to continue over parts of North India from late night of Saturday to morning hours of Sunday and improve thereafter," according to the forecast by IMD.
