Baldwin charged over movie set gun death

HOLLYWOOD star Alec Baldwin has been charged with killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and could face prison if found guilty.

The actor, 64, was yesterday told he was to be prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter following the 42-year-old's death on the set of the western Rust.

Along with Baldwin, the movie's armourer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 25, was also charged with the same offence.

Both are facing up to five years in jail and a $5,000 (€4,615) fine if found guilty by New Mexico prosecutors.

District Attorney Mary CarmackAltwies said: "After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew. On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice."
