Beware the ICE of March

SNOW and sleet showers are on the way as Ireland has been warned to prepare for a sub-zero cold snap.

While Met Eireann revealed everyone would experience the chilly conditions, those in the southwest are due to feel the brunt of it.

A Yellow Weather warning for the entire country came into effect last night and is expected to remain in place until 10am.

With temperatures expected to fall as low as -6 overnight, weather bosses warned of "hazardous conditions" including "icy stretches on roads and paths.

They also expected "sleet or snow in Munster" last night.
