Political Correspondent and Political Editor JOE Biden is planning a six-day visit to Ireland to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, the Irish Mirror has learned.
Senior sources yesterday confirmed "high-level talks" are underway between the Government and the White House over the homecoming of America's most Irish President since John F Kennedy.
The US State Department and the Irish Embassy are also involved in the negotiations.
It's believed a "high-level delegation" that could include former US President Bill and Vice-President Hillary Clinton would accompany Mr Biden on the trip that will be based around at least four locations.
And it's understood a Secret Service advance party is planning their visit here to carry out the necessary security sweeps.
The trip is expected to take place towards the end of next month with final details and dates yet to be determined.
