PUNTERS got more than they bargained for at a heifer sale when a hen party decided to pop in for a "bit of craic".
The hilarious display occurred on Saturday when the girls headed along to Carrigallen mart in south Leitrim.
Around 10 women, decked out in full hen attire, stayed on for a while and enjoyed themselves before continuing&nbsp;on to the next part of the crawl. One martgoer managed to capture the group on video, sharing the footage to Twitter, alongside the caption: "Carrigallen Mart invaded by a flock of Hens last night."
Speaking to the Farmers Journal, auctioneer Micheal O'Reilly explained how he was looking around the crowds of people that Saturday for bids when he met the group of girls.
He said that he believes the party may have even had a positive impact on the trade, adding: "I was in the process of looking around to see the person in the box who was selling the cattle and was unexpectedly greeted by a bunch of&nbsp;ladies. I didn't quite catch on at first who the girls were, but it was actually a neighbour.
"It was different and definitely a bit of craic. I kept on taking bids and seen that the hen party might have had a slight help on the trade."
He added: "You'd see a lot of different things come through the mart doors, but you wouldn't expect a hen party.
