Doc in professional misconduct ruling

A DOCTOR was found guilty of professional misconduct yesterday over his delay in returning to hospital before the death of a young mum.

Consultant obstetrician and gynecologist David McMurray took more than 40 minutes to arrive at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny after being alerted that Tracy Campbell Fitzpatrick was bleeding heavily.

The Irish Medical Council hearing heard he lived just a few minutes away.

Ms Campbell Fitzpatrick, 36, died from a massive haemorrhage within three hours of giving birth to her second child Max on March 28, 2016.
