Nurses call for HSE talks after mask rule is lifted

HEALTH workers called for an urgent meeting with the HSE yesterday after mandatory mask wearing ended. 

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre says face coverings should still be worn around patients displaying coronavirus symptoms.

The changes are in line with the relaxation of Covid-19 measures in other countries.

But the removal of the mask mandate, in place since 2020, has divided opinion.

And because healthcare staff face overcrowded environments, there are fears of infection rates and outbreaks.
