ANTHONY JOSHUA is convinced he has the engine to go full throttle with Tyson Fury.

But the immediate question is whether it is the right time to dive straight into an all-British showdown with the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion?

Joshua, 33, got back to winning ways with his points win over Jermaine Franklin to hand the Michigan man his second career loss.

There were glimpses of the best of AJ, but he also still seemed to fight within himself as he cruised to a 118-111, 117-111, 117-111 win.

It was as if he had the handbrake on. Maybe it was intentional to ensure his tank didn't run empty.

He got through the 12 rounds with apparently plenty left in reserve, despite being at his career heaviest.

That was the impressive part. Joshua boxed well, worked his jab and landed rights. But he didn't put the shots together to put away his rugged and tireless American opponent.
