Girls in Green play France in final warm-up game before World Cup

SOCCER fans have been urged to give the Girls In Green a huge sendoff in their last World Cup warm-up game against France tonight.

With the Finals in Australia and New Zealand kicking off on July 20, thousands of supporters from around the world are plotting the route to cheer them on.

But before that, the team play Les Bleus in Tallaght, South Dublin, in a match manager Vera Pauw billed as "the most important in our preparation".

It will be the first game since she announced her 23-woman squad last week and told the fans they "have a responsibility".

Vera said: "This is an important game for our fantastic fans as they will get the opportunity to cheer on the team and wish them well before we depart for the World Cup.
