UNAI EMERY believes ‘spy in the camp’ John McGinn and Aston Villa’s glorious past can inspire his side in their long-awaited return to Europe.
Midfielder McGinn, 28, makes an emotional return to Hibernian tonight in the Battle of Britain Europa Conference play-off first leg. The Villa captain was at Hibs (left) for three years, winning the Scottish League Cup and promotion to the SPL before a bargain £2.5million move to the Midlands in 2018.
“We have our coaches analysing Hibernian and they told me something last week about how they’re playing,” said Emery.
“Then we can use something from what John McGinn has told us. It was five years ago and his career has got better and better. I think he’d now cost more than before!
