CHILDREN may never walk, run or be able to move their legs again after the series of serious surgical incidents uncovered in the latest health scandal.
One child died and there are serious complications with 18 others in the aftermath of spinal operations carried out by a single consultant at Temple Street Children’s hospital.
Concerns have been raised about the doctor putting unapproved and unauthorised devices into the backs of some kids.
He was not fired or suspended when the scandal first came to light, but instead “paused his operations” pending a review.
The HSE are now carrying out an external review into the scandal, but the solicitor representing the families of children has told the Irish Mirror that they will now be bringing in an independent team of their own despite the HSE pledge.
