Regin Parithapara Rajan, 41, is accused of the murder of Deepa Paruthiyezhuth Dinamani in Cardinal Court, Wilton, Cork, on July 14.
The 38-year-old motherof-one was found dead in their home.
Rajan appeared in Cork District Court on Sunday and again by video link yesterday.
Judge Olann Kelleher further remanded the accused in custody until July 31 for directions from the DPP in the case.
Defence solicitor Eddie Burke told Judge Kelleher his client needed to be seen by a psychiatrist in prison as he is suffering from depression.
