AN elderly couple at risk of homelessness have been offered a house in France by a kind-hearted Irish Mirror reader.
Micheline Walsh, 78, revealed fears that she and her stroke victim husband must vacate their rented Dublin home.
They have lived at the property for seven years but must leave by the end of this month as the owner is selling.
A retired Irishman in Latvia read our story and contacted us to express "shock" at the couple's predicament.
He also offered his holiday home in France to them "rent-free for as long as they require".
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "I read the Irish Mirror each morning here in Latvia.
"I was very shocked to read this article about the situation. [Mrs Walsh] had to go to RTE and the Irish Mirror to attract notice of her situation.
