THE US tourist assaulted in the capital has now set up his own GoFundMe as outrage grows over the one set up by his son.
The Irish Mirror reported yesterday how Stephen Termini hadn't received a cent of the $133,516 (€125,497) raised on the platform.
Now the Buffalo, New York, native has set up his own account on the website, aiming to raise $100,000.
Mr Termini's son Mike Rizzuto established the previous fund, which received thousands of donations from well-wishers.
It is understood many have now formally complained to GoFundMe and want their money back.
The complaints come after Mr Rizzuto claimed he wasn't on speaking terms with his father, who was brutally beaten in a horrific assault near Dublin's Talbot Street in July.
He also said his intention for the money was to use it for travel. expenses and any potential medical bills but that it was not intended for his dad's personal use.
Now Mr Termini has set up his own page entitled Uniting With Ireland in which he says he's raising the funds towards "becoming a citizen after my assault".
GRATEFUL
He told the Irish Mirror he hopes people complain about his son's fundraiser, get their money back and then donate to inste
He added: "I really don't want the kid to get in trouble but I want him to do the right thing instead of the wrong thing.
