Ryanair cutting flights blaming airport's costs

RYANAIR is cutting its winter schedule at Dublin Airport in response to hiked charges.

The airline has cancelled 17 routes and moved 19 aircraft to alternative European airports which it says incentivise airlines with quieter, lower emission aircraft.

Ryanair chief executive Eddie Wilson said this will mean a roughly 10% cut on passenger numbers out of the airport compared to last year.

In a statement contested by the airport operator, Ryanair said it was due to DAA’s “rising passenger charges of 45%, ongoing Capex mismanagement and their failure to deliver a meaningful environmental incentive scheme”.
