A TEENAGE boy has been hailed a hero after stopping the alleged abduction of his sister by using his slingshot.
After hearing his eight-year-old sibling screaming as he played video games at home, Owen Burns ran to the window.
The 14-year-old initially thought she was "messing around" with friends in the&nbsp;garden but leapt into action when he saw her being grappled by an attacker allegedly trying to drag her into the nearby woods.
The youngster, of Alpena Township, in Michigan, USA, said: "I looked out the window and saw&nbsp;her being abducted by a person, and I'm freaking out.
"I grab my slingshot and open the window... I was just lucky. He's just a big target because he's not like one Pepsi can.
Owen hit the 17-year-old male&nbsp;assailant in the head and chest, forcing him to flee.
The suspect was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted assault and one count of assault and battery.
Michigan State Police were full of praise for Owen, saying: "For a 14-year-old to pop into action that quickly is extraordinary and he should be commended for it."&nbsp;
