Yellow weather warnings issued as Agnes' 130kph gales poše risk to life

WEATHER warnings have been put in place before Storm Agnes unleashes 130kph gales this week.

Forecasters urged the public to batten down the hatches ahead of it making landfall tomorrow.

Agnes, the first storm of the autumn, was named by the UK's Met Office, which warned: "There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris.

Met Eireann has said three weather warnings are in place for up to 7am on Thursday.
