Just like cradling a mug of coffee or tea instantly seems to lower my blood pressure, so, too, does holding a large bowl filled with a warm and satisfying meal on a very cold Maine day. While I understand the appeal of broth-based soups—chicken noodle is truly good for our souls, and for colds—I am partial to a thicker consistency in my soups.
