The 87-year-old man suffered serious injuries during the crash on Friday afternoon and died later in hospital, police said yesterday.
A woman, aged 30, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving while under the influence of a drug.
Greater Manchester Police released brief details of the incident yesterday and appealed for anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage of the incident to come forward.
