AS THE regeneration of Eccles continues, Salford City Council have announced a fascinating new project that aims to capture the historic town.
Picturing Eccles, a new photography project looking to showcase the town in an exhibition at Eccles Library, in shop windows, and around the town centre, will run from Friday, September 6 to Saturday, October 19.
It aims to preserve the history of the town and residents, as they sit alongside new photographs of beautiful memories.
The project led by Paula Keenan, the Wigan-based photographer, will be working with the Open Eye Gallery, to use pictures to create a combination of nostalgia and hope for the future.
The newly captured photographs will sit alongside those from the past, in celebration of the future Eccles and its growing community.
