Gizmo, who is nine years old, has been described by the charity as a 'truly gorgeous gentleman' who loves cuddles, tennis balls, and adventures in the car.
The black dog shows his ageing in his frosty face, but that doesn't stop him from tackling two tennis balls at a time or enthusiastically wagging his tail.
Gizmo originally found himself in the care of the Manchester-based kennels in 2014 due to his owner's change in circumstances.
He was rehomed and spent some time with a second family but was returned to rescue at the start of the year.
Manchester Dogs Trust said: "Gizmo was rehomed to a loving family for many years, however, due to his owners' ill-health, Gizmo was returned to us on January 27, 2022, and he has been with us since.
