Eight months on from the announcement that £20m was being put into Haigh Hall through government Levelling Up funding, the initial phase of the renovation is already progressing. The project which will cost a total of £39m includes a cinema room in the basement being built; an underground bar; education spaces; a cafe; a rooftop terrace; and an observatory on the roof.
The stately hall, once owned by the Earls of Crawford and Balcarres, is surrounded by scaffolding as the exterior restoration work continues.
