GREATER Manchester Police has been accused of "heavy-handed and discriminatory action" by a charity who said Gypsy and Traveller children were stopped from attending the Christmas markets and "forced" onto trains out of the city.
The Traveller Traveller Movement, a national charity, said it was "shocking and completely unacceptable" There are now growing calls on the force to explain its actions.
Videos appear to show children and young adults met by officers on a station platform, who then usher them onto trains. Girls can be overheard shouting they don't know where they are going.
"You'd think we'd killed someone," one girl is heard to shout.
