TWO teenagers have been found guilty of the 'frenzied and ferocious' murder of Brianna Ghey.
Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, described as 'beautiful, witty and hilarious' by her family, was stabbed 28 times in a park near Warrington.
She had been lured to the park by a teenage girl who she believed was her friend. But Brianna had no idea that Girl X had secretly been plotting to kill her, with her friend Boy Y.
A note was discovered by police in her bedroom headed: "Saturday 11th February 2023. Victim: Brianna Ghey."
Brianna was found dead by dog walkers in Culcheth Linear Park just after 3pm that day.
After a four-week trial at Manchester Crown Court, jurors found the two teenagers, both aged 16, and 15 at the time, guilty of murder.
Jurors took four hours to deliberate. Girl X, from Culcheth, and Boy Y, from Leigh, cannot be named for legal reasons.
