POLICE discovered a cannabis farm after a fire ripped through a house.
Firefighters rushed to the scene in Chesham Road, Bury, at about 1.30pm yesterday. Crews were alerted after concerned neighbours spotted smoke coming from the roof of a mid-terrace house.
Several homes were evacuated while firefighters tackled the flames. No one is believed to have been injured in the blaze, which started when a cannabis farm caught fire.
The house and two neighbouring properties have been left ‘uninhabitable’ following the incident, firefighters said.
Chesham Road was taped off for several hours as police and firefighters carried out investigations at the scene, near to the junction with Brookshaw Street.
