ADD Copenhagen to a growing list of games that Phil Foden has taken by the scruff of the neck and dragged City over the line to a crucial three points.

Everton away - Foden turned a tight affair into three valuable points for City with a smart goal and influential performance. Same at Brentford, where Foden's hat-trick flipped a 1-0 deficit into a 1-3 away win for the defending champions.

Copenhagen, Foden set up Kevin De Bruyne to silence the crowd early on, and popped up with a potentially tie-killing goal with the last kick. He could have taken the ball into the corner, but sensed the opportunity to give his side a crucial two-goal cushion.

Whether it is in his preferred central role or now out on the right, Foden is stepping up and making it impossible for Pep Guardiola to drop him. Importantly, Foden is proving to be the difference in the tight, tricky away games that have caused City problems in the past.
