Armed officers swooped on the property in Brantingham Road, Chorlton, On Monday evening. It came after reports of 'suspicious items' being found.
'Several' imitation firearms were discovered inside the semi-detached house. As forensic officers removed evidence bags filled with items from the address, neighbours on the 'quiet street' watched on in shock.
They said removal vans had been outside the property, at the junction with Abbotsford Road, in recent days.
