THE mornings were the only time Trish Hinde ever felt peace as a child, those dazed few moments after first opening her eyes.
Then she would be hit by that familiar sense of dread. That fear of whatever horrors awaited her that day. What came next was a routine she followed for years trying to sneak past her father's bedroom door without being seen.
But if he heard the sound of her footsteps, he would call her into his bedroom and sexually abuse her.
The abhorrent attacks first started in 1994 when Trish was just six-years-old. The little girl was often left alone with her father, Gerard King, while her mum worked various jobs.
One morning, night-time security guard King called Trish from her Wilmslow bedroom and asked her to get into bed with him.
After it was over, he made her swear on her mother's life that she wouldn't tell anyone what had happened.
The next morning, he called her into his bedroom again. This time, he made her take her clothes off and touch him. "It was just dread" Trish, now 37, told the M.E.N. "I would wake up and feel dread every day.
"It got to a point where you're always thinking about it and it's forever prevalent. It's constant. As soon as you wake up you're thinking about it and going to bed you're thinking about it. It's just a matter of trying to make that stop." Following the first few acts of abuse, Trish was forced to carry out sexual acts around the family home. She would regularly hide in cupboards just to escape him.
When she was just seven-years-old, T with Family Trish was raped in her living room. The little girl cried in pain while her father told her he would go to prison if anyone ever knew what he had done.
