STUDENTS across the region were celebrating yesterday as A-Level results were released.
At Pendleton Sixth Form College, a day that begin with anxiety quickly turned to celebration for most.
One of those who faced a tense wait was 19-year-old Arijj Khan who bounced back from falling short at the last hurdle to dentistry school last year when he received three Bs. This year he got a well-deserved A* and two As, securing his spot at the University of Manchester.
"Last year I fell short and got three Bs. This year I've come back and bumped up my grades by one in biology and chemistry and by two in psychology," Arijj said.
"Don't give up. Perseverance is key. Celebrate the small wins along the way even when things may not turn out how you want on the day." Fellow Pendleton student Ella is also off to study at the University of Manchester. Ella earned two As and a B, and is ready to start working towards her dream role of becoming a clinical psychologist.
