MANCHESTER City star Benjamin Mendy has been found not guilty of six counts of rape - but faces a retrial after jurors were left deadlocked on the other two charges he faced.
The 28-year-old footballer was unanimously cleared of six counts of rape, allegations four 6 concerning women which are said to have been committed at his mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire. He also was cleared of one count of sexual assault against a fifth woman.
But jurors failed to agree on a further count of rape and a charge of attempted rape, allegations which Mr Mendy also denies.
The French defender will face a retrial on the allegations on which jurors were unable to agree. He held his head in his hands in the dock at Chester Crown Court yesterday as the jury foreman read out the not-guilty verdicts.
Meanwhile, his co-defendant, 41-year-old Louis Saha Matturie, was unanimously found not guilty of three counts of rape, allegedly committed against two women.
