Murder trial shown replica of pistol 'used to kill dad'

A JURY was given a demonstration of the type of gun allegedly used to kill a dad said to have been 'executed' outside his home.

Liam Smith, 38, was shot in the face before sulfuric acid was poured on him.

Michael Hillier, 39, from Sheffield, admits killing dad-of-two Mr Smith and has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

He and his partner Rachel Fulstow, 37, from York, both deny murder and are standing trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

Prosecutors claim the alleged murder was a 'wholly disproportionate act of revenge, which came after Mr Smith had spent a night at a hotel with Ms Fulstow in 2019.
