Thomas and Nicola Faulkner, 27 and 35, launched the road rage attack after they were forced to brake when Benjamin Williams emerged from a side road into their path.
The couple, who had their threeyear-old son in the passenger seat and their four other children in the back of their seven-seater Vauxhall Zafira Tourer, pursued Mr Williams before cornering him in a nearby street.
As the youngsters looked on they shouted 'Get the f*** out of the car' at Mr Williams, pulled aggressively on the door handles and took photos of his car on their mobile phones before driving away.
The couple were later quizzed and said their meltdown arose out of concern for their son who suffers from a rare lung disease.
In a statement Mr Williams said: "Since this incident I have been very anxious and cautious about leaving the house. I was a very confident driver but since this incident I have been nervous.
"I park elsewhere from my house, and have been placing things in front of the registration plate so that I cannot be identified by chance again."
