Silva fires a warning over gruelling season
Manchester Evening News|August 12, 2024
"PEP already told me that I'm not taking the next one, so you guys don't need to worry about that!" Bernardo Silva was in jovial form after a mixed afternoon on his birthday at Wembley against United.

Silva fires a warning over gruelling season

Stepping off the bench, Bernardo got in front of his man to head City level late on in the Community Shield and force penalties - only to miss his spot-kick in the shoot-out.

He missed from 12 yards against Real Madrid in the Champions League as City crashed out, but has since converted for Portugal at the Euros.

And he is philosophical about his latest error - and is keen to warn City of what lies ahead this season.

City began pre-season on July 15 2024, and could be in the Club World Cup final on July 13, 2025, if all goes to plan.

Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland have warned of the year-long season that lies ahead and Bernardo is the latest big name to voice his concerns after an extended rest following his Euro 2024 exploits.
