A MAN who was arrested after a woman was killed on a major road has been released on bail, police have confirmed.
The woman aged in her 30s died of her injuries after being struck by a Vauxhall Insignia on the East Lancashire Road, near Wigan, at around 12.50am on Monday.
She was a pedestrian, police said.
A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken into custody for questioning.
