United have been pursuing the 23-year-old holding midfielder throughout the summer transfer window and after lengthy negotiations with PSG they have now agreed a fee of €50m (£42.3m), with a further €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons. Ugarte will now have his medical before signing a contract with United.
United had identified Ugarte as the ideal player to strengthen their midfield early in the summer but were reluctant to match PSG's asking price of a €60m fixed fee and they believe this deal shows their patient approach to the negotiations has worked, landing an attractive deal for a player they rate highly.
