United legend Rooney questions whether side have any natural leaders

United have endured a turbulent decade since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and the last few seasons have been no different.

Erik ten Hag enjoyed an excellent first year in charge but his second year at Old Trafford saw United finish eighth in the Premier League table.

Although Ten Hag salvaged something from the campaign by winning the FA Cup, his future remains uncertain and outgoings from the playing squad are guaranteed. Ten Hag has faced scrutiny and his players have been questioned.

United's dressing room has been accused of lacking leaders in the past and Rooney thinks that issue remains.

Harry Maguire was stripped of the captain's armband last summer and Bruno Fernandes was given the responsibility, but Rooney believes there should be a number of leaders.
