US drug smuggler caught with 40 kilos of cannabis

A US drugs mule who tried to smuggle nearly a quarter of a million pounds worth of cannabis into the country claimed he was coming to Manchester because of United.

Lindbergh Arzu, 26, who is from California, was offered a 'financial reward' to act as a courier and deliver more than 40kg of drugs. However, he has now been jailed after 'inconsistent answers' 6 at immigration raised the suspicions of officers, and his bags were searched.

Arzu, 26, arrived at Manchester Airport on January 14 this year after flying from Las Vegas via Amsterdam, Manchester Crown Court was told. Upon his arrival, he was spoken to by an immigration officer.

He informed her he had travelled to the city to visit his grandad though couldn't say how long the grandparent had lived in the UK or give his address.
